It has been a long time since I have updated this post. I had the opportunity to head to downtown Austin one Friday night and take some night shots. This included climbing up some spooky steps to get to the top of a parking garage where I took some street light shots as well as taking a nice had-held HDR image on 6th Street. I enjoyed walking around downtown and people watching as well. It’s funny to think how much it takes me back to my college days when I would go downtown at night to have fun.

I shot my first family portrait. Ok I admit it was of my wife and son, but they are always encouraging to work with. We went to Walnut Creek Park in Austin, TX. There is this bridge when you forst enter the park, and the surrounding woods are beautiful. I set them up sitting on a little retention wall and was able to shoot some terrfic photos. I enjoyed taking the shots, because we had not had good pictures taken for almost three years, and no matter how hard I try to convince my son, he just will not stop growing.

I just got home from the photo expo and I had a great time. I was able to listed to 2 really great seminars. The first one was with Will Crockett. I learned a lot about portrait lighting, and he is just a good teacher. The second photographer to speak was John Isaac. He showed a slide show of his early work all of the way through to today. It was great.

I have finally been able to shoot some more photos including an idea I got when my wife picked a gerber daisy and placed it in a glass.

Our Peach tree bloomed for the first time since my wife and I planted it. This holds a special significance to me especially. I love Spring time with all of the resurgence of life that it brings. The blossoms are beautiful. I need to get down to the Zilker Botanical Gardens again soon and see what is blooming.
